USACE Japan Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Site
P-039 Ship Handling and Combat Training Facility, CFA Yokosuka, Japan
Client: USACE Japan Engineer District
The OTIE-RS&H Joint Venture had the honor of participating as the designer of record in this groundbreaking ceremony at Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan.
We are also excited to see construction commence on this new 32,900 square foot facility that will provide vital operational skills training to the Seventh Fleet’s sailors, who operate ships in some of the world’s busiest and most congested sea-lanes. We, and our design partner Coffman Engineers, appreciate the opportunity to have partnered with project stakeholders from USACE Japan, NAVFAC Far East, CFA Yokosuka, and the Fleet to bring this unique design to completion.
Oneida ESC Group Vice President for Engineering and Design Services, Ms. Esin Pektas, represented the joint venture by participating in the Tamagushi ceremony, which is a traditional Shinto offering to bless the project and project site.
