MADISON, WI / Terry Weiss, OES, Structures Lead and Assistant Project Leader, working with the prime consultant HNTB, along with the prime contractor Kraemer North America, is tackling an impressive challenge. The Lone Rock project, a $37 million endeavor, involves constructing two bridges across the Wisconsin River, marking the first Wisconsin Department of Transportation Design-Build Project.

Since the project began, significant progress has been made on the multi-bridge construction and the first bridge is nearly 95% complete. The second bridge is halfway finished, highlighting the critical need to maintain momentum on this transportation bridgeway. The project is on track for completion in July 2025, giving the team time to achieve their goals. The continued successful efforts of efficient scheduling and resource management will be crucial, and we work toward the scheduled end date.

A time-lapse video showcases the intricate process of setting the girders, emphasizing the team’s dedication and expertise. Terry and the team, with OES (Oneida Engineering Solutions), Engineering & Design Services group, are undoubtedly committed to ensuring the project’s success, navigating the complexities of this groundbreaking initiative with skill and precision.
